Mizuno Women's Wave Rider 22
Mizuno continues to tweak the Wave Rider with the new Wave Rider 22. The wave plate has been redesigned, the midsole has been beefed up a little bit, and the upper is now full engineered mesh. How do these changes effect the overall feel, fit, and function of the shoe? Let's find out!
The Wave Rider 22 may look visually similar to the 21, but there are some changes that give you a slightly different overall experience.
- The most noticeable difference in the 22 is that Mizuno has continued to soften the Wave Rider. It has gotten softer over the past few generations, and this is the softest one yet
- With a new full-length engineered mesh upper, the Wave Rider 22 is a little wider throughout the foot and provides more flexibility for slightly wider feet
- The redesigned Wave Plate and midsole create a higher ride overall, going from 30mm/18mm to 32/20 but maintaining the 12mm drop
- Length appears to be near (in running terms) true-to-size - go with your standard size on the 22
